WhatsApp will no longer support handsets running Android versions prior to 4.1 in November. iOS 10 or newer, as well as KaiOS 2.5.1 or newer, are also supported.

Some outdated devices will no longer be supported, according to the company.

According to the company, Google released Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on October 18th, 2011, nearly ten years ago. It’s very unlikely that some people’s phones are running anything older than Android 4.0.4, which was the final update for Ice Cream Sandwich.

It stated that customers can continue to use WhatsApp as long as their phone is updated to at least Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (which Google launched in 2021).

Anyone who purchased an iPhone prior to 2016 is in the same boat. iOS 10 was released alongside the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The good news is that Apple’s gadgets are supported for far longer than those of many of its competitors. The following is a list of every iPhone that can be upgraded to iOS 10: iPhone 5, iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone SE (1st-gen), iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone XR, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max.
