The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S and Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro have a lot in common. It’s a follow-up created to cater to the needs of fans living outside of India. Despite the fact that they have various names, the design and hardware are virtually the same.

Design and Display

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S is essentially the same device as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro. The chassis design, construction, and setup are all same. There’s nothing you’re losing out on.

The build’s makeup is also unchanged. Gorilla Glass 5 is on the back, Gorilla Glass 5 is on the front, and the frame is made of plastic.

On the back, there are quad-cameras, a camera flash, and the Redmi name branding, all of which indicate that this is a Xiaomi smartphone.

Up front, you’ll find the same arrangement as the Samsung Galaxy S20 series of phones, as well as the Samsung Galaxy A51. A single selfie camera is situated in the top middle position of the 6.67-inch display.

The Cameras

Although the cameras appear to be very similar on paper, it would be incorrect to assume that they are same on both devices. The primary camera on the back has been enhanced slightly.

The 48MP primary rear camera features an aperture of f/1.6, compared to f/1.8 on the Redmi Note 9 pro’s 48MP camera. Aside from the aperture modification, the camera’s other specifications remain unchanged.

An 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth camera are among the other cameras in the Redmi note 9s’ quad-camera system.

The rear cameras are capable of shooting HDR and panorama images. It can play 4k videos at 30 frames per second, 1080p videos at 30/60/120 frames per second, and 720p@960 frames per second.

For selfies, you have got a 16MP single camera, with an aperture of f/2.5. This camera is capable of shooting photos in HDR, Panorama. It also supports 1080p videos at 30fps.

Hardware and Software

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S has the same hardware as the Redmi Note 9 Pro, as stated in the introductory paragraph. It’s the same show as before. Everything is the same.

An Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor, 4GB or 6GB of RAM, 64GB or 128GB of internal storage, and a Non-Removable 5020mAh battery are all included in this smartphone.

On the software front, you’ll get Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 interface running on top of Android 10.0.

Connectivity

A 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C connector, and dual-band Wifi Bluetooth 5.0 connection are all included on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S’s internet connectivity is limited to 4G LTE, which means you won’t be able to enjoy 5G internet speeds. The download and upload speeds are both limited to 4G.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S starts at roughly $209 for the 4GB/64GB variant and $249 for the 6GB/ 128GB edition.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S starts at roughly 105,000 Naira in Nigeria. In Ghana, the smartphone costs 1,599 GHS; in Egypt, it costs 3,700 EGP; and in Kenya, it costs 24,999 KES.

On April 7th, 2020, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9S launched on sale. Aurora Blue, Glacier White, and Interstellar Gray are the colors available.
