With the LG G8X ThinQ, LG takes a novel approach to foldable smartphones. LG just slapped on a casing with a second display to double the screen real estate you get, while Samsung and Huawei looked at flexible panels that might unfurl to turn a smartphone into a tablet. This offered a few benefits, including cost savings and the lack of a sophisticated mechanism, making the G8X ThinQ far less sensitive than folding phones. With the LG Velvet, also known as the LG Velvet 4G in overseas regions, the business has followed this strategy once more. LG Velvet Summary

The LG Velvet is the G8X ThinQ’s spiritual successor. It has a large 6.8-inch screen with a 20.5:9 aspect ratio. The LG Velvet, like the LG G8X ThinQ, offers a dual screen adapter that allows for dual screen capability. The LG Velvet is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset, which is somewhat outdated at this time. The processor is combined with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage by LG. You can increase storage, but it will come at the expense of the second SIM slot, as the smartphone has a hybrid SIM slot.

A 48-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor make up the LG Velvet’s triple camera arrangement on the rear. It includes a 16-megapixel selfie camera in the dewdrop notch on the front for selfies. The camera quality is excellent, and the smartphone can take some excellent images in a variety of lighting conditions. The phone’s air quickly recognizes what it is pointed to, and the Night mode is quite beneficial in lowlight to extract more detail from the image. Very good, and the smartphone can take some excellent images in a variety of lighting settings. The phone’s AI is quick to recognize what it’s being directed at. In low-light situations, Night mode aids the smartphone in capturing more information.

The smartphone performs well, but it isn’t as powerful as some of the more modern smartphones on the market due to its outdated chipset. The split screen attachment is particularly beneficial if you want to multitask. The 4300mAh battery is good for around a day and a half of usage. It does not, however, come with a fast charger in the box. Quick Charge 3 is supported, and a suitable charger may be purchased to enable fast charging.
