The Design

The iPhone 6S Plus resembles the iPhone 6 Plus in appearance, although it is somewhat thicker and heavier. The existing space gray, silver, and gold models will be joined by a new rose gold model.

Display & Cameras

The iPhone 6S Plus has a 5.5-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels, which is the same as the iPhone 6S.

However, sapphire crystal glass and ion strengthened glass with oleophobic coating have been added to the screen.

The upgraded display supports Apple’s 3D Touch pressure sensing technology. 3D Touch allows you to engage with your iPhone 6S Plus in a unique way.

Depending on how strongly or softly you push on the screen, 3D Touch allows you to access different functionalities of the phone.

Both sides of the iPhone 6S Plus get a camera boost. The 8 megapixel camera on the back has been replaced with a 12 megapixel camera with sapphire crystal lens cover.

The camera can shoot 4k ultra HD videos and can capture 8 megapixel still images while recording 4k footage.

Optical image stabilization (OIS), dual-LED flash, phase detection autofocus, and HDR are also included on the back camera.

Apple has improved the front-facing camera to make it more suitable for our selfie-obsessed society. The FaceTime camera on the iPhone 6S Plus is 5 megapixels.

Apple also added what it calls Retina flash, which brightens the screen so that it can be used as a flash for the front camera.

Apple claims that the new A9 chip in the iPhone 6S Plus provides a 70 percent quicker CPU and 90 percent faster graphics. The M9 motion co-processor is also built into the chip.

Apple Pay and Touch ID are still available. iOS 9 will be installed on the new phone. The iPhone 6S Plus comes in three storage capacities: 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB, with no option to expand storage.

The A10 Fusion technology, which Apple claims is 40% quicker than the A9 chip, is found in the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.

The smartphone sports a 2915 mAh battery and offers a decent battery life. iPhone 6S Plus does not have native support for wireless charging. However, there are some cases you can buy to add wireless charging capability to your smartphone.

The iPhone 6S Plus costs roughly 72,000 Naira in Nigeria, depending on the configuration. At popular internet retailers, the price starts at $127. Refurbished versions of the smartphone are now available.

On September 25, the iPhone 6S Plus was released in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore, and the United Kingdom, with over 130 countries receiving it by the end of 2015.

The 16GB, 64GB, and 128GB editions of the iPhone 6S Plus cost $749, $849, and $949, respectively. Unlocked iPhone 6S Plus models are now available on Amazon, with reconditioned models starting at roughly $139.99.
