ZTE F912 Phone: DSTV Mobile TV from MTN

The ZTE F912 is a unique smartphone that can receive DVB-H (Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld) signals. DVB-H OMA/BCAST is a digital broadcasting system that allows mobile devices like the ZTE F912 to receive mobile terrestrial television and audio. The ZTE F912 features a built-in DVB-H receiver, allowing it to receive DVB-H signals such as those from DSTV Mobile.

In Nigeria and Ghana, the ZTE F912 is one of the mobile phones that can receive DSTV Mobile through MTN. The ZTE F912 can receive DSTV Mobile in Kenya on Safaricom and in Namibia on MTC. Nokia N77, ZTE F900, Nokia N97, Nokia N96, and others are examples of cell phones that can get DSTV mobile. MTN subscribers can access encrypted digital satellite TV channels on DVB-H OMA/BCAST compliant handsets through the DSTV mobile service. The DVB-H signal is protected by encryption. The MTN/DSTV encrypted DVB-H signal can be decoded by the ZTE F912 handset.

We’ll give you a quick rundown of the ZTE f912’s features.

Although receiving digital terrestrial TV is a crucial feature, the ZTE F912 can also be used for standard 3G/3.5G (HSDPA) phone services such as voice calls, SMS, MMS, high-speed internet, and roaming. When there is an incoming call, the TV will turn off automatically. In addition, the ZTE F912 will notify you of any incoming SMS messages.

The ZTE F912 has a 2.2-inch TFT display with a resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and a color depth of 262 thousand. The screen is suitable for viewing photos, movies, and television broadcasts. A 1.0-inch external OLED display is also included with the ZTE F912.

The ZTE F912 comes with a built-in 2.0 megapixel digital camera that can record video. A video calling camera with a resolution of 0.3 megapixels is also included.

The ZTE F912 has a built-in media player (mp3) that can play video (MPEG4). You only have 60 megabytes of memory to save your media, which is insufficient. MicroSD slots, on the other hand, can expand the storage space of the ZTE F912 to up to 8GB.

The ZTE F912 handset has Bluetooth 2.0 wireless connectivity, which opens up a lot of options.

Subscribers of the DSTV mobile service will be able to use the ZTE F912 mobile phone to make and receive other voice and data calls on the MTN network anywhere in Nigeria.

The ZTE F912 does not require a special SIM card for DSTV mobile subscribers. If you insert your existing SIM card into the ZTE F912, it will receive DSTV mobile signals as long as it is data enabled.

It is recommended to lengthen the aerial of the ZTE F912 handset for receiving television signals, as this will increase picture and reception quality.

Although your ZTE F912 can get standard phone services anywhere on the MTN network, television reception is only feasible where mobile TV DVB-H coverage exists. For the time being, Lagos, Abuja, Ibadan, and Port Harcourt have DVB-H coverage. In the future, coverage will be expanded to other locations.

The ZTE F912 handset is currently available for 15,000 Naira at MTN retailers inside coverage areas. In Nigeria, DSTV Mobile is now accessible for free. There is no charge for data or a subscription. After the free promo period, a monthly DSTV mobile subscription from MTN would cost around N1,500 and include a 10-channel mobile television package.

Channels on ZTE F912 & DSTV Mobile include:

  • CNN
  • Super Sports 3
  • Super Sports 9
  • Super sports Blitz
  • Channel O
  • African Magic
  • NTA2 channel 5
  • Magic World
  • TBN
  • Cartoon Network

Because the ZTE F912 is a 3G phone in and of itself, it can access all 3.5G (HSPDA) high-speed internet services. Using MTN’s 3.5G network, the ZTE F912 can make and receive calls as well as access the internet. The ZTE F912 also supports other data services.
