Surface Pro X 2020 vs iPad Pro vs Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+: Specs Comparison

With the Surface Pro X, Microsoft entered the connected tablet market. Now, the Redmond behemoth has improved the device by releasing the Surface Pro X 2020. While it is the greatest last-generation Windows 10 tablet, that does not necessarily imply that it is the best tablet for productivity. Professional tablets are now available on both Android and Apple platforms. This is a comparison of the Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020, the latest iPad Pro, and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, which we consider to be the best tablets for productivity and sophisticated users. It’s worth noting that we’re talking about the iPad Pro 12.9-inch model, not the 11-inch model.

Design

If you want the most appealing style, go with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+: it’s a more compact tablet that’s also thinner and lighter. The entire design is constructed of metal, and the bezels around the display are extremely thin. The iPad Pro, which is heavier but has even narrower bezels surrounding the screen, is on the same level. The iPad Pro 2020, like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, sports an aluminum unibody design. Even though the Surface Pro X 2020 is made of high-quality materials, we prefer its competitors because they have narrower bezels and smaller dimensions. In each case, high-quality peripherals are included with the pen and keyboard support.

Display

In my opinion, the display of the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ is the most convincing. The explanation for this is simple: it is the only one with an AMOLED panel, which produces more vibrant colors and darker blacks. It also boasts a 120 Hz refresh rate and is HDR10+ certified, which provides a smoother viewing experience and boosts image quality, particularly on streaming platforms. You can use the S Pen with up to 4096 pressure levels thanks to the active digitizer.

Hardware/Software

The iPad Pro 2020 is the clear winner in terms of performance. It is the smoothest and fastest tablet of the trio, thanks to its powerful Apple A12Z Bionic CPU and iPadOS operating system. The Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020, on the other hand, runs Windows 10, which may be preferable for many customers looking for the greatest work tablet. iPadOS is a wonderful productivity operating system, but there aren’t many professional programs for Windows 10, and it only supports apps. Because of this, the Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020 is more appealing. You can even play PC games on the Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020. (if the hardware allows it, naturally). On productivity users, Android for tablets is the poorest operating system available, although it is excellent for multimedia. The Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020, Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+, and Apple iPad Pro are all connected tablets, however only the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ has 5G capability.

Camera

Do you require the world’s best camera tablet? Without hesitation, choose iPad Pro. It has a triple camera on the back, with the best main sensor, a superb 10 MP ultrawide lens, and an additional LiDAR scanner for calculating depth in a very precise way for AR gadgets. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ comes in second with a dual ultrawide front camera, while the Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020 comes in third with a single 10 MP camera.

Battery

The battery in the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ lasts roughly 15 hours in video playback, similar to the Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020 when used normally, while the iPad Pro 2020 lasts about 12 hours. With a 45W power output, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ features the fastest charging technology.

Price

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ costs around €900/$1054, the iPad Pro 2020 costs around €1000/$1170, and the Surface Pro X 2020 costs around €1200/$1405. What is the best tablet? It largely depends on the application. If you’re a casual/multimedia user, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7+ would be a better choice. In all other circumstances, however, avoid it. Choose the Microsoft Surface Pro X 2020 if you require professional desktop programs and games. The iPad Pro 2020 is the ideal choice for you if you sit in the middle and are a professional user who does not require complex desktop programs.
