Design, Display, & Build

The OPPO Watch features a square-shaped design that appears to be influenced by the Apple Watch. It has a mixed appearance, and anyone may be fooled into thinking it’s an Apple Watch. The only thing it lacks is the Digital Crown on the side, which distinguishes it from the Apple Watch.

The OPPO Watch features a 1.91-inch dual-curved flexible AMOLED screen and a 3D curved rear design that is both elegant and fashionable. The front-facing curved AMOLED display offers a resolution of 402 x 476 pixels and an Always-On display function. The backside of the device features sensors, including a heart rate sensor and charging ports.

The smartwatch has a robust 6000-series aluminum frame, Fluoro-rubber material straps that feel sleek and nice on the wrist, and two side buttons, one of which may be adjusted according to your demands.

It’s incredibly light, weighing only 39.3 grams (without straps) and featuring a water-resistant construction with up to 5ATM water resistance, allowing you to effortlessly carry it underwater or into the pool.

Simply click the button at the bottom alongside the straps to remove the straps. If you’re wearing it on your right hand, you can modify the position of the staps. The straps are of good quality and feel solid.

On the right side, there’s a power button that also serves as an app drawer button, as well as a Sports mode button. The buttons have decent response and may be pressed lightly.

A microphone for Google Assistant input is located on the left side of the loudspeaker. The loudspeakers may be utilized to make phone calls as well as engage with Google Assistant.

Software, Features & App Interface

The OPPO Watch runs on Google’s WearOS platform, with the ColorOS interface on top. Because it runs on WearOS, you can use it to make calls, receive notifications, install apps, play music, and utilize the Google Assistant in addition to the fitness functions. This distinguishes it from a fitness band that is solely focused on exercise.

When it comes to the interface, you have Tiles on the right side, which you can access by swiping from the left side and viewing your daily activity, which includes steps, workout time, calories, and activity sessions. By touching on the home screen and swiping all the way down, you can see an overview in a timed graph.

Hardware & Performance

The OPPO Watch is equipped with flagship-level hardware, with two distinct SoCs, one for great performance and the other for power efficiency. It includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 SoC as well as an Ambiq Micro Apollo3 Wireless SoC from Ambiq Micro. It also has a 1 GB RAM module and an inbuilt storage capacity of 8 GB.

In smart mode, the Snapdragon Wear 3100 is used for core operations, while the Ambiq Micro Apollo 3 is used for low-power duties, allowing for up to 21 days of battery life. We had no issues with the watch’s performance during our testing; it worked flawlessly and provided a pleasant experience.

Battery Life & Charging

The OPPO Watch comes with a 430 mAh Li-Po battery that can last up to 1.5 days (36 hours) in Smart Mode and 21 days in power saving mode. The battery life is good, but not the best when compared to other smartwatches in its class; nevertheless, because it runs on WearOS, it has more features and functionality, as well as Google compatibility.

People often do not use their wristwatch in battery saving mode all of the time, but the OPPO Watch in power-saving mode performs similarly to a complete smartwatch, with the display immediately switching on when the wrist is raised. In addition, it continues to track your activities such as heart rate and steps, as well as provide app notifications; but, you will not be able to take calls in this mode.

The smartwatch has Watch VOOC Flash Charging, which can charge the battery up to 46 percent in just 15 minutes, which is fantastic. You’ll have to wait approximately an hour to charge it totally from 0% to 100%, which isn’t too bad considering Xiaomi’s Mi Watch Revolve takes roughly 2.5 hours to charge fully.
