In accordance with Section 40(2) of the Electoral Act of 2022, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has reassigned voters from overcrowded polling units to less congested polling units within the same location to facilitate a more pleasant and stress-free voting experience on Election Day.

In addition, the list of registered voters in the 176,846 polling places across the country will be displayed at each polling place prior to Election Day.

Voters are encouraged to visit their polling places to confirm that their names are on the voter rolls and to confirm the location of their polling place on Election Day.

INEC General Election and Voting Procedures

  1. Voting Starts at 8:30 am
  2. Check and be sure your name is on the register of voters in that Polling Unit
  3. Once accredited you will be issued a ballot paper
  4. You can leave or stay 300 meters away from the voting area to witness vote sorting and counting
  5. Present your PVC for accreditation using BVAS
  6. Get authenticated with the BVAS through finger-print or facials
  7. Go to the voting cubicle to make your choice in secret and drop the marked ballot paper in the ballot box

  1. Explore https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/vvs
  2. Choose the State of Registration
  3. Choose Local Government
  4. Input your First and Last name
  5. Date of Birth
  6. Tick Security Check
  7. Tap on the Check Status

How to Check INEC Voters’ Registration Status

Using the INEC Voters register, you can determine whether or not you are registered to vote. To locate your registration, use your Voter Identification Number (VIN) or your name and date of birth.

  2. Enter your Full VIN or the last 5 digits of your VIN
  3. Tap to Check Status

Determine the locations of each Polling Unit. Here are the subsequent steps:

  1. Explore https://cvr.inecnigeria.org/pu
  2. Select your State
  3. Choose Local Government
  4. Choose Registration Area
  5. Select a Polling Unit
  6. Tap on the Get Directions Button

INEC Result Viewing (IReV) Portal

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will implement the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) for the 2023 general elections.

To ensure a free, fair, and credible election, INEC 2023 General Election Results will be uploaded to BVAS and IReV Portal in real-time and webcast live.
