How To Improve Facebook Search
Want to find your former middle school crush or a nice article you saw a few weeks ago with ease? Finding people or posts on Facebook is made faster by using the advanced search option, which saves you from having to scroll through pages of useless results. With Facebook’s advanced search, you may find posts from friends, postings in groups, and more.
Facebook Advanced People Search
It could be challenging to find a non-friend on Facebook with a popular name. This is because there are usually dozens or even hundreds of members with the same name on the social networking site. Finding someone is usually much easier if you use Facebook’s advanced search. To do an in-depth search for someone, enter their name in the top search bar and click “Search.” After selecting the “People” button in the top-left corner, choose the filters on the sidebar. You can focus your search by selecting “City,” “Education,” “Work,” and “Mutual Friends.” It is often simpler to filter by “City” because not all Facebook members will list their education or employment on their Facebook profile. By selecting a city and then pressing “Enter,” you can filter results by the location you think the person resides in. If you think the person might be a friend of a friend, you can select the “Friends of Friends” option.
Facebook Advanced Post Search
Facebook’s advanced search function can be used to find posts that match specified criteria. This tool can be used to find postings on Facebook pages whose owners you can’t remember. You can use Facebook’s advanced search to find posts by entering keywords related to the post you’re looking for and clicking the “Search” button. After tapping the “Posts” tab at the top, select your filters on the left sidebar. You can narrow down the results by “Posts From,” “Post Type,” “Post Group,” “Tagged Location,” and “Date Posted.” Filtering by “Posts From” and “Date Posted” is often the simplest choice if you can estimate the post date or year. Click “Posts From” and select “You,” “Your Friends and Groups,” or another source after pressing “Enter” to filter it. If you want “Date Posted” or any other filter types to apply, repeat the procedure.
Advanced Group Search
If you’re a member of a Facebook group, having the ability to conduct an advanced search is really helpful because it allows you to find practically any post in that group quickly. Finding a group is a little different than finding posts or other people. On the group page you wish to look through, select “Discussion.” Enter the search terms for the post you’re looking for in the “Search this group” box before hitting the “Enter” key. Select “Most Recent” from the sidebar to view the posts in the order they were added because they are by default displayed in order of popularity. You can hone the results by selecting filters like “Date Posted” and “Posted By.” Please be aware that posts that have been deleted from your group won’t be displayed.
