DSTV Box Office

The prominent cable TV (Satellite TV) company MultiChoice has launched a special Video on Demand (VoD) service called DStv Box Office, which is aimed to better cater to the entertainment demands of all you movie buffs out there. The service enhances your movie options by making exciting new films available for a cost.

About DSTV Box Office and How it Works

DStv Box Office is a movie rental service available online. It allows you to watch some of the most recent and thrilling Hollywood blockbusters from the comfort of your own home, thanks to the boxoffice.dstv.com website or your DSTV Explora Decoder.

Users can choose to watch movies online or download them to their PC or DSTV Explora. Box Office is open to both DSTV subscribers and non-subscribers, which adds to the excitement.

The catch is that if you are a DStv Premium, Extra, or Compact plan customer, you will pay less when renting a New Release online.

You must be a current DStv Premium client with an active PVR subscription on the EXPLORA decoder to access DSTV BoxOffice on the Explora decoder.

To begin using the service, go to the DStv website’s BoxOffice page and create an account. If you’re already a cable TV customer, all you have to do is log in with your DStv Connect ID.

Press the BoxOffice button on the Explora decoder and follow the instructions to access DSTV Box Office.

After you’ve completed the registration process, you may browse or search the database of available Hollywood blockbusters to make your selection.

Rentals and payments can be made promptly using any of the accepted payment methods.

Movies can be streamed straight from the DSTV Box Office site via a browser, or you can download and watch them anytime you want with the DStv Desktop Player.

How Much Does it Cost?

When you sign up for the DStv Box Office service, you will not be charged anything. Only when making rentals will payment be necessary.

Depending on whether you want to rent a recent release or a classic, the cost of renting a movie varies.

Customers on DSTV’s Premium, Extra, and Compact plans in South Africa can rent new releases via BoxOffce on their Explora Decoder for R35. Customers who don’t have DStv might expect to spend a little more.

DSTV Box Office costs 600 Naira per month in Nigeria.

The service is only available to Premium Explora decoder subscribers in Nigeria. It is, however, accessible to all visitors to the website.

How Long is a Rental Valid?

In most cases, you have 48 hours to watch your rented movie. After successfully paying to view online, the timer for the streaming choice begins to tick.

You will have access to a downloaded movie for 30 days if you choose the DSTV Box Office download option, but your 48-hour rental period will begin when you press ‘Watch Now’ on the DStv Desktop Player.
