About Bingham University
Nigeria’s Bingham University is a private university. ECWA initiated planning for the University in 2003. In 2005, the Nigerian University Commission published a charter. In 2006, the seminars began.
Since March 3, 2008, the university has occupied a permanent location in New Karu, Nasarawa State, on the outskirts of Abuja (the Nigerian capital). Plateau’s University Teaching Hospital is located in Jos. Student housing is available on campus.
The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) and Bingham University founded Karu on January 5, 2005, following its formal authorization by the National Universities Commission (NUC).
Roland Victor Bingham, one of the three pioneer Sudan Interior Missionaries, was honored with the naming of the University. Bingham, along with the other founding fathers, sought to instill Christ-centered leaders in our institutions, particularly the University.
Since March 3, 2008, the university has occupied a permanent location in New Karu, Nasarawa State, on the outskirts of Abuja (the Nigerian capital).
Bingham University provides sufficient housing for all registered students. As a consequence, the college mandates that all students reside on campus.
Students are not permitted to leave campus without a “pass” or “exit permission” from the student affairs department. The original ‘exit permit,’ a piece of paper, has been altered.

UTME and Direct Entry Admission Requirements
1. Candidates must have earned a minimum of five credit passes in relevant courses, including English Language, at GCE O-Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO, or recognized equivalents in no more than two sittings.
2. Candidates with Teachers Grade II (TC II) with credit or merit passes in appropriate topics from GCE, WASCE, SSCE, or NECO, or recognized equivalents, are eligible for consideration. No subject may qualify for both TC II and GCE O/Level, WASCE, SSCE, NECO, or equivalents.
3. To be eligible for internal Bingham University examination, a candidate must earn the minimum departmental cut score/point on the JAMB UTME.
4. Applicants or candidates who desire to study at Bingham University must be at least 16 years old in the year of admission; those younger than 16 must swear an affidavit of age declaration.
Candidates who meet the aforementioned requirements are automatically admissible to Bingham University and its screening procedure.
