The iPad Air 2019 is a refresh of the iPad Air series, with high-end hardware housed in a Tablet form that harkens back to 2017. It was created for iPad fans who want a device that is less expensive than high-end pro tablets but yet has capable technology. The iPad Air 2019 features and price are discussed in this article.

The Design and Display

When looking at the iPad Air 2019, you could wonder if it was made in 2019 or 2017. This is made easier by the fact that the Air 2019 has a design that is similar to that of 2017. It looks eerily similar to the iPad Pro from 2017.

iPad Air devices are intended to be a less expensive alternative to pro iPads. So I suppose we can forgive the iPad Air 2017’s design for this reason.

What is the degree of similarity between the two tablets? Both tablets have the same design, bezel size, and other features.

The back is made of metal, while the front is made of glass. There aren’t many features at the back. There’s only a single rear camera, some lettering on the bottom, and nothing else.

On the iPad Air 2019, we have a setup that could result in a lot of frowns. Even in 2019, there is an iPad with large bezels. As mentioned in the previous paragraph, the fact that this is a cheaper iPad aided this veteran setup.

The iPad Air brings back a function that has been missing from previous iPhones and iPads, including the iPhone 11 and iPad Pro. Touch ID is Apple’s distinctive feature. A Touch ID sensor is located on the iPad Air 2019’s bottom bezel.

The screen is a 10.5-inch Retina display with a 1668 x 2224-pixel resolution. The iPad Air 2019 is, for the record, the first iPad Air with a retina display.

Still, since we’re on the subject of firsts, the iPad Air 2019 is the first iPad Air to support Apple’s pressure-sensitive pencil. The disadvantage is that it only works with the first-generation Apple pencil.

A smart connector on the tablet allows you to connect an external keyboard to it via a set of connector points. This means you won’t have to rely solely on Bluetooth to connect to an external keyboard.

Over the years, iPads haven’t been known for having very vibrant color schemes. The iPad Air 2019 is similar. It’s available in three colors: Space Gray, Silver, and Gold.

The Cameras

Apple is known for making some of the best smartphone cameras available, with the iPhone 11 Pro being one of the best. However, there has been a noticeable gap in the camera hardware in iPads in recent years. Neither the Pro iPads nor the far less expensive iPad Air are exceptions.

The camera’s hardware is quite simple. In my perspective, there isn’t much to be impressed with. On the back and front of the tablet, there is a single camera configuration.

The iPad Air 2019 has an 8MP camera with an aperture of f/2.4 on the back. This camera can shoot HDR images as well as 1080p videos at a maximum frame rate of 30 frames per second.

For selfies, the tablet makes use of a 7MP shooter. This camera has an aperture of f/2.2. It is capable of taking photos on HDR and also 1080p videos at 30fps.

Hardware and Software

The iPad Air 2019 has the same hardware as last year’s model. The hardware on display here is similar to that found on the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max. It’s the most powerful iPad Air ever built.

It uses the Apple A12 Bionic technology from last year, which is a 7nm processor. The chip contains a Hex-core CPU with 2.5 GHz and 1.6 GHz operating rates.

The iPad Air includes a 3GB RAM and 64GB and 256GB storage options. The iPad Air does not support Micro-SD expansion, as is common with Apple’s mobile devices.

The battery is non-removable and has a capacity of 8134 mAh. Which is larger than the iPad Pro 11 and a competitor from another manufacturer, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4.

On the software side, the iPad Air 2019 runs iOS 12.1.3. It also has support for iPad OS, which gives it a desktop interface.

Connectivity

A 3.5mm headphone jack, Lightning port for charging, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi are all included on the iPad Air.

Because 5G is not supported, internet access on the iPad Air 2019 is limited to 4G LTE. It works with all of Nigeria’s main telecommunications networks, including MTN, GLO, Airtel, and 9Mobile, to provide 4G internet.

iPad Air 2019 Price and Availability

The base model of the iPad Air 2019 costs roughly 499 US dollars, which is about 180,887 Naira. The maximum 256GB capacity costs roughly 649 US dollars, or about 235,262 thousand Naira.
