Over the last month, Xiaomi has released a slew of new Redmi and Redmi Note smartphones, indicating that the market isn’t slowing down. The Chinese behemoth has faced stiff competition thus far, but it has managed to keep up. Buyers don’t appear to mind because they’re getting more value for their money than they have in the past. Because the Redmi 8 is the most recent generation of one of Xiaomi’s most cheap models, it has an enormous potential target group.

Redmi 8 Summary

Xiaomi has changed the path of its Redmi series, with a slower processor than the previous generation but better design and functionality overall. While gamers may be upset, the firm hopes to provide a more well-rounded experience, so most people should be satisfied. With a relatively plain appearance and three jewel-toned colors to choose from, the Redmi 8 feels excellent in the palm. There are no rough edges whatsoever, and the build quality is great. This phone, on the other hand, takes a lot of cues from its less priced brother, the Redmi 8A.

The Snapdragon 439 processor isn’t particularly powerful, but it comes with 3GB or 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage. A 5000mAh battery is provided, as well as support for 18W fast charging, albeit only a 10W charger is included. The 6.22-inch HD+ screen is adequate for a phone at this pricing point.

The cameras were disappointing, even though the overall performance was good for day-to-day use. Images were not always sharp, and photo quality was particularly poor at night. Xiaomi’s MIUI software is likewise bloated with advertisements and bloatware.

Overall, if you want a polished experience, this is a good phone to buy, but if you need raw performance, you may need to spend a little more.
