Samsung made it plain during the unveiling of the Galaxy M series that it is aimed at young millennials, a market that Chinese smartphone makers have dominated for several years. To reclaim this market, Samsung’s M series phones offer lower costs than previous Samsung models, as well as notched displays, twin or triple camera systems, and large batteries. Samsung already has the Galaxy M10 (Review) and Galaxy M20 (Review) in the market, which cater to the sub-Rs. 10,000 and sub-Rs. 15,000 segments, respectively, and has now introduced the Galaxy M30 to reclaim the Rs. 15,000 – 20,000 segment.
Samsung Galaxy M30 Summary
Samsung’s entry into the sub-Rs. 15,000 sector is the Galaxy M30, which features a Super AMOLED display. We appreciated the full-HD+ panel because it was clear and bright enough outside. The phone is powered by a Samsung Exynos 7904 SoC, which provides adequate performance for the price. The processor is capable of handling mild to medium workloads, however it does warm up when under strain. It includes 64GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. It offers a dedicated microSD card slot for up to 512GB of storage expansion. The triple camera arrangement on the rear, as well as the selfie camera, take good photos. We didn’t like the fact that this phone came with Android Oreo with Samsung Experience UI on top of it, rather than One UI and Android Pie. The 5000mAh battery has a long life span.
